KUZUFAB enables farmers to easily integrate to Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) which causes a dramatic change in farmers’ working processes by providing more complex and big data on the animal performance, welfare, and food requirements to preserve and improve the technical, economic and environmental performances of farms. This automated system allowed information such as repeated live weights and reproductive performance data to be captured with minimal human intervention and errors.KUZUFAB is augmented with a decision support system (DSS) that take into account not only real-time data but also expert knowledge. DSS are required to collect, synthesize and pre-analyze all available data since the comprehension and control of the system by human operators are quite complex. Sheep farmers experience lower productivity and profit margins than other livestock sectors. Sheep farmers do not know exactly where they gain or lose income from their flocks, and that this is associated with the limited use of data to monitor their sources. Efficient use of feed energy has important links for both animal welfare and environmental impact. We need more animal product with less feed, less manure and emissions; and PFM emerged out of the need to inform farmers more regularly and in more detail on the health, welfare, and productivity of their animals, and to help them make quick and evidence-based decisions on the animals’ needs [11].
